What do you do?

We are looking for business minded, analytical Marketing Controller who wants to make a direct impact on business performance and growth of L’Oréal Active Cosmetics Division. In this newly created position you report into the Divisional Controller and will be the Finance Business Partner for the Benelux Brand Business Leaders and Marketing community. This is a very exciting phase to join, since the Division is experiencing a strong double digit growth, driven by very successful brands, adding new channels, creating new business models and merging into a Benelux organisation in 2021.

In this position you will oversee the marketing budget & spend across all categories and brands within the Benelux Active Cosmetics division. You anticipate on risks & opportunities, manage the marketing (pre) budget bottom-up, by department (digital, pr, media, research, capex) and by brand/sub-brands. You ensure that everything is documented correctly and manage the periodic closing, monitor the expenses (incl. monitoring & approval of PO creation and classification) and manage the periodic management reporting of the results. This includes a thorough variance analysis, deep diving into the underlying marketing KPI’s and commercial drivers, which you discuss during the periodic reviews with the Brand Business Leaders. You are involved in the financials and analytics supporting the annual marketing plan & budget, translating this into a forecast, tracking the performance and (promotional) ROI and the(quarterly) revision of the budget.

Following the merger & focus on digitalisation you will actively contribute to the automation of the reporting process and creation of insightful marketing dashboards. It’s your job to create insights and support, advise and guide the marketing community to invest and allocate the marketing budget into the right “pillars” to maximize promotional ROIs and further growth in new & existing brands and channels.

  • Master degree in Finance, Economics or Accountancy
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as an analyst, consultant or controller
  • Affinity with the FMCG business model, preferably with marketing- and media developments as well
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP), Excel and BI tooling
  • Fluent in English, and preferably Dutch and/or French
  • Excellent communication skills, make impactful presentations and conduct effective business meetings
  • Able to work in fast paced, dynamic setting with tight deadlines and ad hoc requests
  • Proven ability to be the commercial agitator and challenge current ideas & processes
  • Able to act as a pro-active business partner to a wide range of stakeholders in a dynamic environment
