Analytical FP&A Controller at Mediq | PE-owned, high growth, highly data driven
Who are you?
We are looking for an ambitious and analytical FP&A Controller for the Benelux region focussed FP&A team at Mediq, which now is in a strong growth phase. By expanding the FP&A team to five high potential financials, the team will directly support in Mediq’s further growth in the Benelux area. You report to the Head of FP&A & Data Analytics and also have a lot of exposure to the MT yourself. The FP&A team is considered to be the financial “talent pool”, which means Mediq will invest in your development as a financial both on-the-job as externally (for example in future education) and you will have a lot of growth opportunities within the organization, such as the Finance Business Partner role or in other disciplines.
As FP&A Controller, you are part of the FP&A team and co-responsible for the Performance cycle (Planning & Control) with a prominent focus on the sales/commercial side. You manage and control the budget, forecasting and periodic management reporting, such as profits, margins and budgets. Depending on your experience and the team development you will do this for the institutional markets (B2B) (5 segments, incl. care institutions, hospitals and general practitioners) or the direct markets (B2C) (across 9 categories). These provide very distinct challenges: for example the sheer volume and varying contract forms of the B2B market and the complex payments of the private patients (consumers) whose costs are usually paid by the health insurers. How do you cope with these in the analyses? You will translate your analyses into business insights that support decision making and you present them to the management teams yourself.
You have to build strong relationships within Mediq to enclose all necessary information resources. The Finance Business Partners are the senior sparring partners who focus more on the financial business strategy and business cases. The Data Analytics team supports in creating dashboards and reports and the Accounting & Internal Control colleagues take on the transactional processes.
Good to know...
Mediq is backed by Private Equity investor Advent International and looks to both continue their growth and stay competitive. Several exciting projects you may contribute to in the future are: supporting in ABC and margin analyses to create better insights in profit pools, track growth initiatives from Budget and Strategy, supporting with analyses concerning new acquisitions, or innovative business models such as the continuous development of healthcare technology and service design (e.g. E-Health)
