What do you do?

This position is newly created to assist with and accelerate the BAM Financial Services (BFS) NL Finance Transformation. You report and work closely with the Head of BFS, have a dotted line to group finance and a strong working relationship with BFS NL Management, colleagues from diverse functional backgrounds and/or within the Opco’s.

The BFS NL team consists of appr. 100 colleagues managing the General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Hour registration, Master Data Management and (some) Reporting activities for the NL Opco’s. Within the BFS the core focus is on harmonisation, optimalisation and automation of these finance processes using methodologies like ESSA (eliminate, simplify, standardize, automate). As the Business Consultant Finance Transformation you are the “internal consultant” and co-pilot for the Head of BFS initiating, managing and coordinating process improvement projects. Together you lead the implementation roadmap towards strong, uniform processes and an efficient IT/BI landscape, which support the quality of decision making within BAM BFS by leveraging upon the (financial) data that is available.

You are responsible for coordinating the end-to-end project lifecycle. From defining the project scope, milestones, timelines & tracking together with the Head of BFS, to creating clear plans (roadmaps) for different departments, coordinate project members, manage stakeholders and enable the (end) user to execute by training & workshops when necessary. You will have to manage several (sub) projects in detail, while overseeing the overall objectives and end-to-end processes at the same time.

Projects

All projects will be focussed on improving the financial core processes; ranging from improving the P2P process by utilizing the potential of the data available from the new tool Basware Alusta which interfaces with Tableau, redesigning the hour registration & approval process to optimalisation of the R2R (financial closing). Furthermore you will be looking for ways to implement Robotics, will start a pilot for redesigning processes using data mining and will be involved in the (future) S4H migration.

Who are you?

We are looking for a confident, energetic and proactive financial (consultant) with a good understanding and strategic view on the core finance processes and possibilities that (new) tooling & methodologies can bring. Who is able to understand the “as-is”’ situation and take the lead in the roadmap to create strong, uniform and (where possible) automated processes.

“Whether you are a (finance transformation) Consultant or a Financial always focussing on (data driven) process improvements, in this position you are going to make a huge (strategic) impact on the BAM finance transition. The projects span across finance domains and/or departments, in and outside BFS NL. This requires very strong stakeholder management skills. Somebody who can engage and motivate others, tailor their communication style when necessary, relate to all different levels in an organisation and is able to cope with possible resistance or setbacks. A transition is never “easy”, but you will be able to reach common ground and encourage constructive discussions.”

  • Master degree in Finance, Business Intelligence or Business Analytics
  • Min. 4-6 years of experience as a (finance transformation) Consultant or within a finance position with a significant amount of process improvement projects
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch (fluent) & English
  • Experience and/or affinity with automation, RPA, data mining, ERP systems, Business Process Modeling and Mapping
  • Experience with SAP R3 / Hanna, Basware, Field Services and/or Uipath would be a plus
  • Someone who is organizational aware, being able to apply his/her up to date knowledge and financial expertise to the current environment of BAM, both on BFS NL as well as on OpCo level;
