What do you do?

We are looking for an energetic, hands-on Financial Controller to join the finance team at the headquarter of Levi9 in Amsterdam. Within Levi9, the core focus is on alignment and process improvement. In this position you report to the CFO and work closely with the Business Controller and country finance leads to discuss variances on the actuals and underlying causes. You will be the day to day liaison for the finance teams in our 5 delivery centres in 3 countries (Serbia, Ukraine & Romania) and will be responsible for coordinating of the local teams during the financial close, do the financial sanity check and analysis on their numbers and actively support & challenge them on variances.

As the Financial Controller you are responsible for periodic (consolidated) reporting of the group. The reporting pack will entail the financial reporting, but also the capex reporting & cashflow forecast. You perform the financial sanity check, a first analytical review and explanation of movements in P&L and balances in B/S accounts. Both on country (opex/capex) level as well as group (revenue) level. To do this, you will be in close contact with the business (department heads & local finance teams) and from there share your insights with the Business Controller and CFO. You will be responsible for the group accounting yourself, which does not require a huge amount of time on a daily basis, considering the size and activities within the entities and the finance assistant will cover most of the transactional accounting such as booking of invoices, billing and VAT. However you will be reviewing the numbers, making sure all cost and revenue is accounting for and you are responsible for the financial closing and more complex topics (accruals, intercompany, revenue bookings) of the group yourself. From there you manage the consolidation in collaboration with the local finance teams. Year-end, you will play an important role in the annual external audit process, which includes year-end reviews, reconciliations and interaction with external auditors. You support the preparation of financial statements and review the tax filings.

They expect the financial controller to have a critical mindset, initiating & implementing various process improvements and/or advice covering all aspects of finance (reporting process, optimisation of interface between Open Air & Netsuite, AO/IC, Accounting Manual, Standard CoA, transfer pricing, tax, cost efficiency initiatives etc.)
