FP&A Lead - strategic business partnering in a dynamic setting
What do you do?
We are looking for a talented, strong and analytical FP&A Lead who thrives in an international, dynamic environment. You report to the Business Unit FD, work closely together with Risk, R&D and your Finance colleagues and are the business partner for Commercial Management.
As the FP&A Lead you support strategic decision making and new business development for your Business Unit. You drive insight in key performance indicators such as revenue, gross margin and EBITDA. You investigate the profitability & ROI of current products, understand relevant market trends and the potential impact on business. Furthermore you are heavily involved in strategic analysis for new business development; doing market/competitor analysis, financial modelling & business cases for new product/market combinations.
For your Business Unit you are also responsible for the periodic management reporting. This includes the variance analysis of the actuals vs. budget/forecast and analysis of the commercial & operational KPI’s, monitoring business progress against (strategic) objectives. One of the most important KPI’s is the forward book, which you monitor closely and actively challenge the business on.
Within ACT the core focus is alignment, insights & process improvements. With your experience and interest in technology, you will be responsible for creating and implementing an insightful management reporting dashboard. By combining different internal &(external) data sources with financial & operational data, you create dashboards supporting management decision.
Within ACT, no day is the same. And neither will yours. One moment you are finishing the financial outlook, assessing progress on strategic objectives , the next you are involved in reviewing the potential of new product trading opportunities developed by the R&D team . Later that day you prepare for your meeting with a business intelligence colleague, improving reporting on KPIs through advanced technology.

• Master degree in Finance, Economics or Accountancy
• 4-8 years of experience in FP&A, as a business analyst or business controller
• Experience within Financial Services / Trading industry is a strong advantage
• Strong Excel skills and experience with BI Tooling
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Able to work in fast paced, dynamic setting with tight deadlines and ad hoc requests
• Proven ability to be the business partner, at the same time challenging current ideas & processes
• Proven ability of working with different stakeholders and having international exposure
• Mature individual with significant personal presence and credibility
• Grounded, approachable personality, critical yet constructive and positive approach

ACT Commodities was founded in Amsterdam in 2009 by former financial brokers Jaap Janssen and Bram Bastiaansen. When the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) was first implemented in 2005, the pair were among the first to recognize the need for trading services in the environmental commodities market.
