What do you do?

Hillebrand is a global market leader, with an innovative global logistics network & presence in 90 countries and a turnover of > €1.4bn. They seek to capitalize on strengthening their leading market position within BWS & Industrial Bulk Liquids as well as pursue new growth avenues, both autonomously as through an active global buy-and-build strategy. The pathway for this ambition has been embodied in the new Business Plan, including all strategic initiatives which will lead to realizing the ambition to double in size by 2025.

The position of Manager Global Strategy Implementation has been created on group level to assist in executing the Strategy Plan in the Business. You will act as the advisor of the Executive Board, setting up a quarterly reporting deck on the performance of the strategic initiatives. This will include a thorough analysis and advice on variances in deliverables, milestones & timelines. You will present the initiatives that over/under perform, which have a direct impact on the realisation of the strategy or business decisions and/or that the EB should address.

You will start by setting up a scalable performance tracking framework (PMO) which will enable you to track all (global) strategic business initiatives. For some of these initiatives the deliverables, milestones and timelines are already defined, but others might also need advice in translating the business plan into strategic, tactical and operational deliverables. The projects will be carried out on country, regional or cross functional business line level and the ownership & accountability for these projects lies within the business. You will monitor, challenge and advice the business on project performance and act as the extension towards the EB for them.

Initially your core focus will be setting up the performance tracking framework and assisting the business with translating the strategy into tactical and operational deliverables. Once the (PMO) foundation is solid, you will assist BI/Business Control and Corporate Development (M&A) in strategic projects. You will be involved in ad hoc analysis and business cases such as the profitability analysis on customers and/or tradelanes, business integration or capex investment, up to assisting M&A with market-, target- and/or synergy analysis and corporate development opportunities.

Somebody who can act both on C-level as well as create strong relationships with, support and if necessary influence the business. You bring the analytical capacity and eagerness to really understand and grasp the key drivers and complexity of the business in order to add value. You can engage in and switch between strategic topics and detailed/operational topics while being meticulous and razor-sharp on both levels.

  • Master degree in Finance, Strategy, Business Economics

  • Min. 3-5 years of experience within Strategy or Financial Advisory (M&A, Post-Merger Integration, Restructuring)

  • Excellent communication skills in English

  • Comfortable working with project management tools & analyses, proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience with Finance tools (e.g. Unit4), Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Qlik or PowerBI) or similar tools for analysing, organizing, visualizing, collaborating, tracking, reporting and communicating.

  • Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a highly matrixed and complex environment.

  • You are detail oriented, self-starter, structured, high sense of urgency and ownership

  • You have the attention to follow-through, get-the-job-done approach and a strong can-do mentality
