Senior Financial Controller - international, high growth environment
What do you do?
We are looking for a talented, strong senior Financial Controller who thrives in an international, dynamic environment. You report to the Manager Financial Control, work closely with the Traders, Mid Office and Finance colleagues and advise local managers. To do that successfully, you need to be assertive & decisive, have a service-minded attitude and an energetic personality.
As the senior Financial Controller, you will have full accounting & reporting responsibility for your division; ranging from the month-end close, preparation and processing of memo postings, control of the Balance Sheet (checks, accruals, provisions, reconciliations) and P&L, to the preparation of the financial reporting packs. You liaise with the financial controller(s) and the colleagues from AP & AR, take ownership for the more complex accounting responsibilities yourself, but also train & coach your colleagues when necessary to get to the next level together.
Within ACT the core focus is alignment, insights & process improvements. Setting up strong, uniform processes which can accommodate the ongoing growth strategy. As the senior Financial Controller we expect you to actively contribute in implementing and improving of reporting and accounting & financial controls (f.e. R2R and P2P processes, Accounting Guidelines, Internal Control processes, Audit process) together with the Manager Financial Control.

- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Economics or Accountancy
- 3-6 years of experience as a Big4 Accountant or Financial controller
- Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS
- Experience within commodity trading industry is a strong advantage
- Experience with an ERP implementation and/or process improvement projects would be a very strong plus
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Good insight in financial accounting and reporting processes combined with business sense
- Mature individual with significant personal presence and credibility
- Grounded, approachable personality, critical yet constructive and positive approach
- Proven ability of working with different stakeholders and having international exposure
