Tech savvy Financial Controller in E-Commerce Returns Management
What do you do?
As e-commerce is booming, and more and more customers return their goods bought online, Return Process Management provider Cycleon is experiencing an explosive international growth. To support this they are looking for a Financial Controller to further improve the core financial processes and tooling, while being responsible for the end-to-end accounting & reporting process of Cycleon.
In this broad role you become part of the lean Finance team based out of Utrecht, The Netherlands, which consists of the Finance Director, the Finance Business Partner and you as the Financial Controller. You lead the remote Finance team (SSC) based in Bucharest, Romania who take care of all AP/AR related tasks and certain GL aspects. You coordinate their deliverables, review their work and take care of more complex accounting topics or issues yourself (f.e. certain memo bookings / intercompany reconciliations / complex accruals). Together with your team, you are responsible for all accounting and reporting activities for Cycleon. Furthermore you invest in their knowledge and development, training them on processes & technical topics and in the upcoming year also training the new colleagues who will be joining the SSC, with the idea that more (GL) activities can be handled by the team. As the financial controller you do the first financial sanity check and analysis on the numbers, which you discuss with the Finance Business Partner and CFO, who you also support with (ad- hoc) data analysis. You are also responsible for the annual statutory report, VAT and you manage the group audit process of mother company Reverse Logistics Group (RLG).
You bring ownership & expertise and will play a pivotal role in working smarter and faster in all financial processes, including the RtoR, P2P & O2C cycles, initiating & implementing process improvements in revenue billing, aligning IT systems such as Navision, LucaNet, Tableau & in-house tools, drive cost efficiency, set up internal controls, etc.

The O2C process is a complex one due to the large amount of services Cycleon delivers in Returns management as a result of the volume of (unstructured) data and the complexity of the service. They are clustered in the First Mile Service (returning, checking and rating of the goods) and in the Value Added Services (repairs, refurbish, repack and redistribute), the latter being harder to track & trace the realized costs and how much to bill. You need to standardize the data and process of the services, interface with analytics to ensure the accuracy & improve the efficiency of the billing process and create more insight into the costs and margin.

Bachelor or Master degree in the field of accounting, finance, economics
4-7 years relevant working experience in financial accounting, audit and/or controlling, preferably in an international, agile organisation
Strong communication skills in English and (business) Dutch
Strong affinity with IT and financial tooling; Microsoft Navision Dynamics is a big plus
Roll up your sleeves and getting things done mentality; making bookings yourself if needed
Experience with process improvement projects and/or implementation is a plus
Easy going, sociable, fun to work with and a personality adding to the Cycleon Culture
